FILMING BEGINS IN SANYA
Beachwear, bikinis and sun hats have been unpacked for the first time on this trip, as Miss World contestants took to the tropical pools and spas of the Crowne Plaza Sanya.
The girls enjoyed splashing about in the sun during filming of inserts for the Miss World 2010 Final, to be broadcast live from Sanya on Saturday 30 October. The tropical island paradise of Sanya is an ideal location for Miss World, with the palm trees and pools forming the perfect backdrop for filming – as well as giving the girls somewhere to relax in the sun.
“I just love the sun so it was great to get into the pool at last,’ said Panama. “We’ve been traveling to so many incredible Chinese places, being here among the palm trees hardly seems like China. It’s fantastic!”
It wasn’t all play, though. The contestants also began rehearsals for the final spectacular, starting to get to grips with what is planned for the live TV final. Each year, original music is composed for the show with complex choreography specially designed to make Miss World the most incredible live TV spectacular.
In the run up to the Final, the contestants will be put through their paces to get in right on the night. They will also be preparing for the beachwear, sports, fashion and talent finals taking place in advance of the big night.
