Damp Squib: Katherine Heigl opened her front door to the LAPD in her bikini on Tuesday who she called to deal with a disgruntled neighbour


She just wanted some quiet alone time with her husband at their Los Feliz, CA home after he'd been away on tour.

But Katherine Heigl's attempted make-out session with her husband Josh Kelley on Tuesday night has now made headlines after her neighbours accused the couple of being too noisy.

The actress explained her backyard hi-jinks to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show this morning and says she was actually the one to call the LAPD.

'The other night, my husband and I, we were chillin' in the hot tub, it was just the two of us.

'We had just put the baby down, it was like 8:30, 9 at night,' she recalled.
'He's been gone, he was on tour, he was only home for three days. I wore my most ridiculous bikini, it was awesome.'

But their quality time together wasn't appreciated by a nearby resident who gave them the ugly truth that he wanted the couple to shut up.

'He [the neighbour] starts screaming at us to go inside. I'm like, 'I've had it, I've had enough of this. It's ridiculous, it's harassment and I'm calling the police.'

'We called my security and they called the police and they went and talked to him and then came over and talked to us. At that point we were a couple of cocktails in.'

She added: 'That's the other thing that's so ridiculous, we were totally hanging out, like just making out in the hot tub. It was totally PG, we're not idiots. We're not gonna be out there doing anything scandalous.'

But Katherine then answered her door to the cops in a not so flattering bikini which was caught by the shutter-bugs.

'The most hilarious thing is there's video footage of us in our bathing suits.'
The Knocked Up actress stressed that they really were just having quiet time and not doing anything illicit.

'So there was no noise except us talking quietly to one another, and it sounds lame, it was us listening to Josh's album. We could barely hear it; now I'm sounding defensive.

'We're the most boring couple in Hollywood and that's the most scandalous thing we've ever done.'

Singer-songwriter Josh had answered the door to the police in his swimming trunks around 10.15pm before Heigl appeared behind him in her mismatched bikini.

Kelley apparently tried to persuade Heigl to go back inside but she continued to talk to the officers - enraged that her evening had been interrupted.

The couple and the cops then went inside to continue the discussion which must have put a real dampener on their romantic night in.

The couple have been married for nearly 3 years and have a 2-year-old daughter Naleigh together who they adopted from South Korea last year.
