Like mother like daughter! Lady Gaga and Cynthia both appeared to be fond of their big sunglasses in London


When you're an internationally famous pop star, dressing like your parents is possibly the last thing that you might consider doing.

But Lady Gaga and her mother clearly had no such reservations when they were spotted together in London on Thursday.

The 24-year-old singer - real name Stefani Joanne Germanotta - was snapped leaving her hotel in a long black coat, teamed with a pair of flashy shades that brought to mind Elton John in the 1970s.


But it's a look her mother seems to approve of as Cynthia Germanotta - who has been spending time with her daughter on her European tour - was also seen wearing giant sunglasses.

And although they were noticeably less flashy than the ones worn by Gaga, the resemblance between the pair - who seemed also to have similar hairstyles - seemed all too obvious.

Cynthia was spotted wearing the huge shades after leaving Abbey Road Studios in London, where she had spent the day with the singer.

She has been working on her second studio album Born This Way, the followup to her incredibly successful debut album The Fame.

'It came so quickly. I've been working on it for months, and I feel very strongly that it's finished right now. Some artists take years. I don't. I write music every day," she said recently.

And ironically, given her new taste in sunglasses, she has recently finished recording a duet with Sir Elton John. The track, called Hello Hello, will feature in the new Disney film Gnomeo and Juliet.

Lady Gaga is currently midway through her Monster Ball tour of Europe and is due to perform at the Arena Zagreb in Zagreb, Croatia, on Friday, before moving on to Hungary, Sweden and Switzerland.

However she has been making the most of her time in London and has been seen in a string of outrageous outfits while in the capital.

Earlier in the week she was seen heading to a bikram yoga class wearing a pair of towering platform boots, which were so tall she had to be helped down the street by a minder.

She was also seen wearing them later in the day when she arrived at Abbey Road.
