Busted: The forgetful heiress tweeted a picture of a distinctive Chanel bag that allegedly is at the centre of her drug possession chargeParis Hilton appears to have done a good job of dismantling the defence for her recent drug arrest.
The 29-year-old socialite claimed that the bag she was carrying - in which police found contained cocaine - was not hers, and belonged to a girlfriend.
But it appears the forgetful heiress may have come undone, as on July 15 - she tweeted a picture of the distinctive Chanel bag along with a tweet saying: 'Love My New Chanel Purse I Got Today'.
And website Radaronline are claiming it is the bag she was carrying when arrested on cocaine possession charges in Las Vegas last weekend.
If so, the emergence of the picture may prove to be a stunning blow to Paris's claim that the handbag in which police found cocaine did not belong to her.
Radar alleges a photo from the night of the arrest contains an out of focus image of the purse, but claims it is a Chanel, as evidenced by the distinctive interlocking Cs, and that the clasp in the front of the bag appears to be the same.
Paris was also seen with the bag before the arrest as she partied in St Tropez on July 25.

She denied the cocaine allegedly found in her car in Las Vegas last night is hers. Which is the same defence she used when facing drug charges in South Africa last month.
She escaped punishment when a South African court dropped marijuana-smoking charges against her.
The hotel heiress was arrested on Friday when police claimed they found a local form of cannabis, known as 'dagga', in her handbag.
A friend and former Playboy model admitted possession.

Meanwhile chat show host David Letterman joked about her recent misfortunes on The Late Show last night.
'Does she need any more trouble, does she really?' Letterman joked, referring to her 2007 stint in jail.
'By the way, whatever happened to "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?"
Letterman commented on Hilton's claims she thought the cocaine was actually chewing gum, saying, 'I put it to you, ladies and gentleman - Who hasn't made make that mistake?
'Not only that, her boyfriend was arrested and charged with DWI -- driving with an idiot!'he said.
