Singer/songwriter Angela Aki will be celebrating her 5th anniversary soon, and she has already announced that she will be putting out her first best album, “LIFE,” for the special occasion. She has released the track “Every Woman’s Song” from the album to promote it, and it has already hit number 2 on the USEN J-POP chart. This is the first time in the chart’s history that a song with English lyrics has made it into the top three.
“Every Woman’s Song” encompasses the feel of Angela Aki’s career from her debut to now and is a special collaboration with American singer Janice Ian. Janice Ian is a two-time Grammy award winner and is currently 60 years old. Angela Aki is only 32 though, and the duo is quite proud that they have overcome national borders, age, and race to make this collaboration together.
The album will officially released on September 8th. The DVD contains 11 music videos, everything from her debut single “HOME” to her recent “kagayaku hito.” On the day of the release, she will hold a special “1,000 child free live” in Kanagawa Prefecture.
