Squaring up: Ryan Seacrest confronts Simon Cowell on last night's American Idol over remarks made about contestant Michael Lynche

The American Idol host took exception to Cowell's comments about male finalist Michael Lynche, whose performance was slammed as 'desperate' and 'corny'.

Typically earning a chorus of boos and hisses from the audience, Cowell, 50, just smiled smugly as Seacrest, 35, challenged him to elaborate on his remarks.

Cowell said: 'Do you want me to talk to you or to Michael?'

And while the other judges - Randy Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi - tried to laugh it off and carry on, Seacrest was not going to let it drop

Their bitchy banter has become as much a part of American Idol as the tears, tantrums and triumphs.

And while most of Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest's bickering is all done affectionately and very tongue in cheek, sometimes things can get rather heated.

Last night was no exception, as Seacrest squared up to judge Cowell in defence of male finalist Michael Lynche, as the final 12 contestants performed songs by the Rolling Stones.

Calm down: Cowell tries to reason with Seacrest as judge Kara DioGuardi laughs the spat off

You win: Cowell backs away from an angry Seacrest

In front of a stunned and silent studio audience, Seacrest walked off stage and approached the judges, put his hands on the desk and leaned towards Cowell.

In hushed tones, he said to Cowell: 'I'm actually trying to help him out a little bit because I want him to stay in this competition. Are you all right with that?

'Try and give him some constructive criticism.'

Defensive: Contestant Michael Lynche stands by as Seacrest takes Cowell to task

Holding his hands up, Cowell backed his chair away from the desk - and an irate Seacrest - and told him: 'This is getting very uncomfortable. We can sort this out later in my trailer if that's what you want.'

It was then business as usual as the remaining eleven contestants stepped up to perform.

Cowell and Seacrest have always insisted that their bickering on the show is all just a bit of fun and they are great friends off-camera.

Some gossip columns in the US have even suggested that their spats are scripted as a ploy to spice up the show and draw in more viewers.

Bickering between the judges and the host hasn't done the X Factor rating any harm, especially the spats between Dermot O'Leary and judge Louis Walsh.

Not backing down: Seacrest waits for a reaction from Cowell

Two years ago they nearly came to blows after O'Learly indulged in a number of camp jibes towards Walsh, but was said to have apologised to the music producer after a ticking off from X Factor bosses.

And last November they engaged in a row on air after O'Leary dismissed his comments about Joe Elderry's performance of Circle of Life.

He said: 'Every now and then Louis needs to be put back in his box.'

Walsh said: 'You're not a judge Dermot, I'm a judge', to which O'Learly snapped back, 'I think the audience are the real judges."

Smug: Cowell just smiles at Seacrest as the audience look on in amusement

SNSD isn’t the only member of the SM Entertainment fam that’s releasing a track today – only an hour after their new song Run Devil Run was unveiled, SNSD’s hoobae group f(x) has something new to share as well!

We don’t know much about this track other than the fact that it’s titled Thrill Love, so make sure to stay tuned as we explore this matter. It’s believed that this track will be part of the OST for the drama Romeo and Juliet, but that has yet to be confirmed. Until then, enjoy!

Will SNSD’s ‘catch me if you can’ dance be a hit?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwoPI9glT-Uendofvid
[starttext]
By now, we should all know that every hit track comes with a hit dance move, as proven by Brown Eyed Girls‘ saucy hip dance in Abracadabra and Kara’s butt dance in Mister (and now their emergency exit dance for Lupin. But we also can’t forget about SNSD, which had infectious choreography moves for Gee and Tell Me Your Wish (Genie).

Well on the 15th, SNSD released their teaser video for their upcoming ‘Black Soshi concept‘ track titled Run Devil Run for their repackage album. Although it was only 23 seconds long, netizens have found specific parts of the choreography from the clip which they anticipate to be the next hit dance move.

Netizens have already given the move a nickname, calling it the ‘catch me if you can‘ dance, because the members’ running motion seduces you to go and catch them. Check out the dance, starting at around 0:16 to 0:18:

Foxy releases their new MV!

The girl duo Foxy released their music video for Why Are You Doing This To Me? (왜 이러니). This video was previously banned by SBS for its sexual scenes but from looking at the final edited version, I don’t see why it should be banned.

The video isn’t as inappropriate as I thought it would be. It’s still very sexy with its swimsuit scenes, so watch out fellas.

This duo had a special member join recently named Han Jang Hee. The song itself isn’t too catchy but I think people are paying more attention on the video than the song. They’re definitely going for a more sexy look like the Brown Eyed Girls but I have to be honest and admit the Brown Eyed Girls pull it off better.

SNSD’s teaser video for “Black Soshi” concept unveiled!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwoPI9glT-Uendofvid
[starttext]
After literally months of waiting, SNSD has unleashed their dark concept at long last! Back in January, we were dazzled with the nine girls’ peppy Oh! cheerleader concept and shocked with teaser revealing a metamorphosis of maturity now popularly dubbed the “Black Soshi” concept.

Earlier this month, we got to see the SNSD ladies go from sweet to sexy, from Yuri’s droolworthy teaser to maknae Seohyun’s 180 degree transformation. It’s finally time to catch a glimpse of all nine girls together in the MV teaser!

Many have been worried with the dark concept trend that’s been taking the kpop world by storm as of late, but with a teaser like this, I’m sure SNSD doesn’t have any plans of hiding in other artists’ shadows. Their new song Run will be revealed in full on the 17th; stay tuned for the music video which will be released very soon!

Their repackaged album with 3 new songs will drop on March 22nd

Jaebeom says, “2PM fighting!”

Soon after Jay Park / Jaebeom uploaded a video on Youtube featuring his own rendition of B.O.B’s Nothin’ on You, an immense number of people flooded the account’s profile page for more information on Jaebeom. In fact, Jay’s Youtube account already has nearly 20,000 subscribers after only three hours! He’s only got one video up, but it’s already received over 150,000 views and five thousand comments (and counting), undoubtedly making this one of today’s hottest kpop issues.

Many people, including Hottests and non-Hottests, are relieved to be able to see this popular figure seemingly healthy & relaxed in his video. Fans worldwide are also ecstatic about this new connection to Jay, since they can now directly post comments on his page and follow his Youtube account & actions (quite literally – you can even see his most recent sign-in time in the profile box. Creepy…).

Merely hours after Jay posted his cover on Youtube, he also added the following blurb to his profile page:

[English translation: It would be nice if you didn't cuss about 2pm. They're nice and good kids. I hope you don't misunderstand them. ^ ㅠ ^]
2pm fighting!

i dont want you guys to hate on 2pm on behalf of me cause i still love those guys and likewise. they’re still my homies. if you dont want to support them thats cool you know but i just want everyone to get along and move on and all do great things know what i’m sayin? =)

During the aftermath of the JYPE-Hottest conference that took place a few weeks ago, there were many so-called “insider” rumors going around that JYP Entertainment was going to force Jaebeom to tell fans to support 2PM. This is purely my personal opinion only, but it seems like Jaebeom’s supportive words are genuine, and that he is relatively comfortable with where he is right now. For those of you that have turned away from the rest of 2PM/1:59PM/6PM/what have you, have your opinions regarding the male group changed at all after Jay’s message or do you stand by your earlier opinions?

Yogi the Hungarian Vizsla beats 22,000 doggy contenders to win Crufts

Top dog: Hungarian Vizsla Yogi, pictured with handler John Thirlwell, was named Best in Show at Crufts
His handler John Thirlwell, who trains the dog in Carlisle, Cumbria, said: 'He is just such a wonderful dog, I am just pleased that he stood up to it.'

He could not have wished for a better end to his dog-show career.

Yogi, the seven-year-old Hungarian Vizsla, yesterday scooped Best in Show at Crufts - moments before it was announced he would be 'retiring'.

The chocolate-brown dog, who was praised for his 'powerful' and 'free' movement, had beaten off 22,000 other pooches to win what is regarded as the most coveted crown in dogdom.

Yogi, who won the Gundog group earlier in the evening, is the first Hungarian Vizsla to win Best in Show at Crufts, held at the NEC in Birmingham.

Mr Thirlwell later said he is likely to retire now.

Judge Valerie Foss said: 'He is such a lovely mover, so powerful, so free.
'He is just a very, very good dog.'

The Kennel Club, the show's organisers, said almost 22,000 dogs across 187 breeds were entered into this year's Best in Show competition.

They had been whittled down in their individual categories during the four-day contest to just seven competitors - one from each group - who battled it out last night.

They included a Rottweiler, a Welsh Corgi, Scottish Terrier and a Pharaoh Hound - a breed of dog traditionally from the island of Malta.

Taking second place was a Scottish Terrier from Russia, whose pet name is Rico.
Thousands of dog-lovers packed the arena to cheer on the finalists

Second place: A terrier named Rico, pictured with his Russian owner Valentina Popova, was named runner-up

The tense round of judging was briefly disrupted by an anti-breeding protester holding up a banner and shouting from the stands, and a streaker who ran into the arena.

The streaker was wearing nothing but shoes and socks and a cat-shaped mask covering his modesty and had the words 'I streak.com' written on his chest.

Believed to be known as the 'Captain', the man was quickly escorted from the area, allowing judging to continue.

In the running: A Rottweiler named Joe from Rotherham with handler Marie Monk competes for the Best in Show
The Best in Show prize has been awarded for the past 79 years, with 40 breeds winning the coveted title over the years.

In recent years, the event has been shrouded in controversy over pedigree breeding.

Earlier this week the charity People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) claimed breeders were 'creating a Frankenstein's monster of a dog'.

This year the event was broadcast on More4 after the BBC - which began screening Crufts in 1966 - announced it was dropping its coverage in December 2008.

The decision followed a BBC documentary claiming Crufts allowed damaging breeding practices that caused disease and deformities.
The RSPCA also withdrew its support in 2008 because of welfare concerns

Dog tired: One of the show's competitors takes a breather

I'm sorry, Sir - you have to be a canine to enter this competition...
