Incredible moment the sky ripples as rocket goes supersonic

The rocket passes through a layer of ice crystals in the atmosphere, creating an astonishing rippled effect

This is the incredible moment that an Atlas V rocket went supersonic.

This amateur video captures a rocket exceeding the speed of sound and passing through a sun dog, creating a visually stunning rippling effect, akin to a UFO.

A sun dog is a prismatic bright spot in the sky caused by the sun shining through ice crystals in a cirrus cloud.

As the rocket exceeded the speed of sound, the shock waves visible from the ground were created.

The rocket is launched from the Kennedy Space Centre on February 11th
The rocket was launched by the Solar Dynamics Observatory from the Kennedy Space Centre on February 11th.

The announcer can be heard declaring 'The vehicle is now supersonic' to applause and cries of wonder.

Nearly a week ago, beastly idol group 2PM (minus Nichkhun and Jaebeom) duked it out with Super Junior on MBC’s ‘Star Dance Battle.’ Now I don’t know about the rest of you girls but I nearly fainted from their more-than-awesome performance (and don’t lie, I know you drooled over their body waves and pelvic thrusts).

Well lucky for you girls, a rehearsal video has recently been released of 2PM dancing to Chris Brown’s ‘Take You Down.’ Check it out!

MBC’s Music Core is incomplete without its two lovely MC’s, Girls’ Generation / SNSD’s Tiffany and Yuri. But tonight’s Music Core was even more special, because they were joined by the newest sensation, CNBLUE. Wait, that’s not it! MC Daesung and MC Seungri of Big Bang hosted alongside them throughout the show as well!

Can this get any better? Add in the special stage by the two SNSD MC’s and CNBLUE, and it just did!

Enjoy Gee (band version) + Champion by Tiffany, Yuri, and CNBLUE!

Happy Birthday to the 200th episode of MBC Music Core with SNSD + Daesung and Seungri!

The craziness that is the 200th episode of Music Core continues with a fanboy’s dream!

Three of the top girl groups in the k-pop industry got together to perform an ensemble of sexy songs.

The crab-walking, leg flipping girls of SNSD / Girls’ Generation, the butt shaking girls of Kara, and the sexy detention divas After School, teamed up to perform Lee Hyori’s U Go Girl, Boa’s My Name, and Son Dambi’s Crazy!

Woah, just thinking about it has my head swimming!

So without further ado, check out the Diva Legends Stage below:

BEG, Lee Eun Mi, Baek Ji Young, After School and CNBLUE are sound-holics on Music Core

On this very special 200th episode of Music Core, MBC introduced a special segment called “sound-holic” featuring our favorite Brown Eyed Girls, Lee Eun Mi, Baek Ji Young, After School and indie rock band CNBLUE!

The Brown Eyed Girls had a successful year in 2009 with hits Abracadabra and Sign. But before the girls became dark and sexy vixens, they were once cute and innocent girls. It’s almost hard to believe but it’s true as the Brown Eyed Girls performed the fan favorites L.O.V.E. and How Come.

Many of you k-pop fans may not be familiar with her work but Lee Eun Mi is one of the greatest artists in Korea. Since her 1992 debut she’s made quite a name for herself and is even considered the “Legend of Ballad.” She returned to the stage and upheld her title as she performed the classic I have a lover.

After her hit last year with the fun electric song My Ear’s Candy, it’s quite easy to forget that Baek Ji Young’s true expertise lies in the power of ballad. Watch as she performed her 2008 hit Like being shot by a gun.

After School caused quite a buzz when they made their fall/winter comeback with their hit Because of you. They promoted their song for quite a while but eventually had to say their goodbyes. But divas will always remain divas as they returned on the Music Core special to perform last year’s hit Diva!

Rookie indie rock band CNBLUE has shown their love for rock by performing classics. This time the band performed Jawoorim’s Magic Carpet Ride and added their own little flavor to it. But of course they performed their debut hit I’m a loner as well.

2NE1, 2PM, SNSD and SHINee go back to their debut days on Music Core!

Music Core went AWOL last week but they didn’t return empty handed. MBC comes bearing gifts as they bring out our favorite idol groups and take them back to their debut days in this special segment called “Back to the Debut.”

The nine girls of SNSD gave the fans a dose of nostalgia as they performed their debut song Into The New World. It’s almost hard to believe that it’s been 3 years since their debut and that these cute and magical girls have now become one of the hottest and sexiest female idol groups on the k-pop scene!

Even though they said goodbye last month, 2PM just can’t seem to stay off the stage. The boys worked it on stage as they performed their 2008 debut song 10 out of 10. And they topped it off with a little bit of Again & Again, again.

To celebrate their special 200th episode, MBC patched things up with YG Entertainment and got 2NE1 to appear for the first time ever on Music Core. The girls performed their debut song Fire and their follow up hit I Don’t Care. There’s nothing like reminiscing about the past than with vertigo and carpal tunnel as you bob your head and swag your finger along with the fire as you work it like you just don’t care.

Another group that’s gone on break is SHINee as they spent most of their time filming for Hello Baby season 2 . As much as we love the little tiger, fans can’t help but be a bit selfish and steal the boys for awhile to watch them perform their 2008 hit debut Noona is so pretty (Replay). SHINee then topped it off with some Ring, Dinging and Donging.

To celebrate MBC Music Core’s 200th anniversary episode, there were lots of special stages performed by various artists. Unlike the debut and MC special stages and what now, there were a trio of “couple” stages as well!

First off was Kim Jong Kook and 2PM’s Taecyeon, who performed old school legend Turbo’s Hwesang and Kim Jong Kook’s This is the Person:

Lastly, trot king and queen Park Hyun Bin and Hong Jin Young performed each of their songs Shabang Shabang & Love’s Battery as well as Jang Yoon Jung’s Jjan Jja Ra:
