Ringless: David Arquette was out in Beverly Hills this morning with his daughter Coco and without his wedding band just hours after admitting to having a fling

David Arquette stunned listeners when he phoned into the Howard Stern radio show this morning to candidly discuss his separation from wife Courteney Cox.

And in a bizarre turn of events, the 39-year-old actor admitted to being intimate with waitress and aspiring actress Jasmine Waltz, 28.

He told Stern: 'I did have sex with her one time, maybe twice... my sexual encounter made me pretty feel manly.'

Trial separation: Arquette confirmed to Howard Stern this morning that he had Cox separated shortly after their wedding anniversary back in June

Waltz is somewhat of a fixture on the celebrity dating circuit, having previously enjoyed dalliances with Ryan Seacrest and Jesse McCartney and earlier this year she was accused of punching Lindsay Lohan in an argument over reality TV star Doug Reinhardt.

But despite his admission the Scream actor insisted that he had not been unfaithful to his wife of 11 years who he described as 'an emotional being' and 'an amazing woman'.

He said that 'part of the terms of our separation was that I was allowed to see other people and so was she.'

He addressed claims Cox has already moved on, too, with her Cougar Town co-star, Brian Van Holt, 40.

Moving on: Arquette said he knew Cox and Van Holt were involved in an 'emotional affair' and he admitted to having slept with Jasmine Waltz

According to sources, Holt and Cox often spent time together off-set and Arquette revealed to Stern that his wife and Van Holt were involved in an 'emotional affair' but was not aware if it had yet become physical.

He also insisted that their seven year age gap wasn't a factor in their break-up, at least as far as he was concerned, but admitted that Cox was more hung up on the issue.

Meanwhile, it was business as usual for Cox after the news broke that she has separated from husband Arquette.

The former Friends star was seen leaving her Hollywood home yesterday with what appeared to be a script in her hand.

Dressed in a black outfit and dark sunglasses, she headed to Culver City, where her TV series Cougar Town is filmed.

Cox and Arquette, married for 11 years, issued a joint statement announcing their 'trial separation' after U.S. magazine InTouch Weekly reported the pair had split.

Soon after reports surfaced linking the former Friends star's husband with the 28-year-old waitress and actress Waltz.

Cox, 46, and Arquette, 39, met in 1996 while filming Scream and were married three years later in San Francisco. Their daughter Coco, is six years old.

They said they hope the separation will help them 'understand themselves and their relationship,' and they insisted they 'still love each other deeply.'

The statement continued: 'The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage.

'We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply.

'As we go though this process we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together.'

They added: 'We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation and we hope that our friends, family, fans and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding and love at this time as well.'

The pair recently wrapped filming on the fourth instalment of the Scream series, which is due out next year.

Still best friends: Courteney and David seen out in Malibu last Easter, maintain they are best friends and responsible parents to daughter Coco

The first signs that all was not well came last summer when Cox showed up for an interview with In Style magazine without her wedding ring.

She admitted to having couples therapy for problems in the marriage he said: 'We have the same arguments we've had for years.'

Last month, Arquette was seen out without his wedding ring giving a hint of things to come.

And Courteney has been seen dining out with daughter Coco on several occasions with no sign of her daughter's father.

And the news comes just days after the couple’s best friends, Ben Harper and Laura Dern announced their separation.

Harper filed for divorce from Dern on Friday citing 'irreconcilable differences.'
