Too hot for TV? Fire eater Tia Brodie during her blazing act

The topless fire-eater who impressed the two male judges last night on Britain’s Got Talent has appeared in pornographic films.

Exotic dancer Tia Brodie advanced to the next round of the ITV talent show after singing the Kasabian song Fire while running a burning torch over her skin, wearing only high heels, knickers and two patches over her breasts.

The show’s creator Simon Cowell said he ‘loved it’, while fellow judge Piers Morgan said he would like to ‘see more’ of her act.

Only the third member of the panel, Amanda Holden, was critical, dismissing the performance as a ‘brilliant new way of hair removal on the legs’.

Flexible: Brodie bends over backwards

Saucy: Brodie in a modelling pose

Ms Brodie, 33, who has worked in the sex industry for nine years, said she was not ashamed of her past.

But media campaigners last night criticised ITV, saying the sexualised performance was inappropriate for Saturday night family entertainment.

Vivienne Pattison, director of Mediawatch UK, said: ‘This show is watched by thousands of children. ITV push the boundaries and push them again. It’s an erosion of standards that we have to resist.’

Ms Brodie claimed she had not intended to go topless for the audition. ‘I had brought along a liquid to spray on clothing so it becomes fireproof but it didn’t work so I couldn’t wear the top I wanted to wear.

‘For health and safety reasons I had to do it without the top otherwise I would have set myself on fire.’ Ms Brodie left school with eight GCSEs and two A-levels. She worked at a magistrates court in Kent and became a legal secretary before giving up her career in 2001 to be a pole dancer and stripper.

She then became a porn model, setting up her own agency in 2002, and she has worked for adult TV channels. She has also been a clerk at polling stations during local elections, but is not working at next month’s General Election.

Ms Brodie said: ‘I stopped all my work in the porn industry in 2008. I started a relationship and thought that if the boot was on the other foot I wouldn’t want him going with anybody else.

‘I’d like people to look at my act as it is now, not what I’ve done in the past. Simon was very, very sweet. Piers had a poker face so I just didn’t know what he was thinking.’

Asked what she thought the Queen would make of her if she wins the contest and appears at the Royal Variety Performance, Ms Brodie said: ‘She’d find it different, unique, entertaining. I reckon she’d like it.’

Nervous: Christopher Stone sang Maria from West Side Story

An ITV spokeswoman said: ‘Britain’s Got Talent aims to reflect the diversity of talent in the UK. It offers equal opportunities to all performers who operate within the law.’

Singing accountant Christopher Stone also appeared on last night’s show – but only because his mother Janine secretly entered him in the contest.

Mr Stone, 29, said: ‘My parents sacrificed an awful lot to give me a musical education. I’m really glad mum entered me.’

After giving a nervous, but powerful performance of Maria from West Side Story, Cowell told Stone he needed to work on his stage presence.

Balancing act: Gymnastics troupe Spellbound amazed the judges and the audience

Don't look down: One of the Spellbound gymnasts flies through the air

He said: 'Christopher, the issue with you is your lack of conviction and lack of self-belief from you... I think you've got a really, really good voice. Do we have a star?'

All three judges unanimously put the accountant through to the next round.

Another act which brought the house down as gymnastics troupe Spellbound.

All three judges were visibly amazed and watched nervously as the group threw each other up in the air, did somersaults mid-flight and became a human triangle.

Cowell said: 'I have never seen anything like that in my life. I thought once again we were going to get some really boring gymnastics display but that was very clever, very smart.'

Not so original: Lady GaGa impersonator Maxxie

Amanda Holden added: 'It was absolutely faultless. Some of the stuff that was going on I didn't think was humanly possible. Outstanding. Absolutely incredible.'

Another act doing something completely different was a group of Oxbridge sixth-formers called The Arrangement.

A group of classically-trained musicians shocked the audience when they performed a mash-up of Flo Rida's Low, Lady GaGa's Poker Face, Beyonce's If I Were A Boy and the Black Eyed Peas' I Gotta Feeling.

Originally buzzing the act in the first few seconds, Cowell soon changed his mind.

He said: 'It was like you were performing at a school ball but somebody spiked your drinks. It was like something out of a movie, but you were serious

Something different: Classical group The Arrangement gave their own take on pop songs

One act receiving mixed reviewing was cross-dressing Lady GaGa impersonator Max Oliver.

Wearing a typically GaGa-esque wig and tiny outfit, Oliver sang and dance and flashed his behind, much to the disgust of Cowell.

He said: 'Maybe when you first appeared on stage there could have been a little bit of confusion between you and Lady GaGa. And then you started singing. The singing just got worse as it went along. It was just awful, awful, awful.'

Despite his disdain, Holden and Piers Morgan appeared to enjoy it - as did the audience - and put through Oliver to the next level - partially to annoy Cowell.

One act Cowell was taken with was Laika, a Collie Labrador billed as the only dog in the world that plays guitar, who is the star of tonight’s show.

Strumming along: Melissa and her guitar-playing dog Laika

But as viewers will see, guitar heroes Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page can rest assured that their status is under no threat from the pooch.

Laika pads on to the stage dressed in a hat and coat and immediately steals the limelight from owner, busker Melissa Serbico, who launched into a decidedly eccentric version of The Beatles classic, Let It Be.

As Miss Serbico, 38, originally from Ireland, who now lives in East London, fails to enthral the audience, Cowell’s attention quickly shifts to Laika.

A known animal lover, Cowell, 50, tells fellow judge Holden: 'See those are the kind of dogs I like. I like old, nobody wants me dogs.' He then mouths to his fiancée, Mezhgan Hussainy: ‘I want that dog.’

Miss Serbico boasts: 'Laika is the only dog in the world that plays the guitar. I’ve checked it on the internet and all the other ones are fakes. Simon has never seen a guitar playing dog before and he’s going to love it.'

Balancing act: Sinead plays the guitar while jumping on a pogo stick

However, Laika – who shares the same name as the soviet space dog which was the first animal to orbit the earth in 1957, but unfortunately died in the process – seems to have other ideas.

When the London audition begins, seven-year-old Laika initially sits next to Miss Serbico, only to look away in the opposite direction.

Presenter Ant McPartlin says: 'I’ve never seen a dog look embarrassed before, until now. That dog looks embarrassed.'

Miss Serpico is then seen asking the dog to join in and play guitar and even Cowell is seen trying to coax the dog into playing. The method by which the dog plays the guitar is by brushing her paws against the strings.

After School’s Kahi and Jungah pitch for LG Twins

It has almost been a month since the Korean baseball league season begun in late March. We have already seen our fair share of idol girl groups stepping onto the field to do the opening pitch for teams like HyunA of 4minute, Seohyun of SNSD, Victoria of f(x) and just recently KARA’s Nicole.

It has hardly been an ideal month for After School whose promotions for their new single Bang! has been nothing short of stop-start. With them not appearing on M! Countdown this week, the girls will also be missing on Music Bank, Music Core and Inkigayo as the shows have all been canceled.

But on April 24th, there was some cheer for fans as Kahi and Jungah took to the field to do the opening pitch for the LG Twins in their game against the Hanhwa Eagles at the Jamsil Stadium. Long regarded as the Appa-Omma pairing in After School, Jungah threw the opening pitch while Kahi batted this afternoon.

How well did they pitch and bat? Watch for yourself.

The bra advert with the fuller-sized model that proved a little TOO hot for American TV

Model Ashley Graham poses in a bright red bra... and little else

An advert for plus-size bras has been banned on American television because it is thought to be too raunchy for viewers

Network executives pulled the commercial starring full-figured model Ashley Graham over fears that it was revealing just too much cleavage.

Plus-size lingerie firm Lane Bryant was planning to air the advert this week during a break in Dancing With The Stars.

Ashley did wear a black coat in the commercial, but not for long

TV executives felt the camera lingered a little too long on Ashley's cleavage

But ABC network chiefs refused to screen it, sparking claims that they were discriminating against larger models.

A source at Lane Bryant said: 'The cleavage of the plus-size model, they said, was excessive, and we don't think that's the case.

'It certainly appears to be discrimination against full-sized women.'

The 25-second advert shows Ashley in a series of poses in Lane Bryant underwear.

A voiceover says: 'Mom always said beauty is skin deep. Somehow, I don't think this is what mom had in mind.'

Lane Bryant said the Fox network also originally refused to show the ad during American Idol and insisted on the advert being re-edited.

They finally agreed to feature it during the final ten minutes of the show.

A Lane Bryant spokesman said: 'We knew the ads were sexy, but they are not salacious.

The ad was due to go out during Dancing With The Stars, which featured Pamela Anderson and Damien Whitehead
'Our new commercials represent the sensuality of the curvy woman who has more to show the world than the typical waif-like lingerie model.

'What we didn't know was that the networks, which regularly run Victoria's Secret and Playtex advertising on the very shows from which we're restricted, would object to a different view of beauty.'

A Fox spokesman insisted: 'We didn't treat them any differently than Victoria's Secret.'

ABC declined to comment.

Oh the shame! Jennifer Lopez recoils in embarrassment after viewing of video of herself aged 20 dancing on television for MC Hammer

Jennifer Lopez was left red-faced as she was shown her first ever TV appearance - as a dancer auditioning for MC Hammer.

The 40-year-old singer and actress blushed and held her head in her hands as a clip from 1990 was shown on George Lopez's Lopez Tonight Show.

Holding her head in her hands, and covering her face in embarrassment, she screamed: 'That was so mean'

'That's so hysterical. That's MC Hammer, he was not even known then.'

Not the main attraction: Jennifer was an unknown when she got the gig, MC Hammer, middle, and, left former Yo! MTV Raps presenter Fab Five Freddy

Jennifer was seen gyrating and dancing while dressed in a black cropped top, matching pants and dance tights.

She later explained: 'I was dancing in a dance school in Manhattan and they came for Yo! MTV Raps which was just starting out then.

Before we were famous: Jennifer howled as she was seen gyrating and dancing while dressed in a black cropped top, matching pants and dance tights

Blushing: Jennifer can't bear to look at the video of herself which was shot when she was just 20 years old

Star is born: The singer turned actress later became a regular dancer on show In Living Colour

Although she never went on to tour with MC Hammer, Lopez gained her first regular high-profile job as a 'Fly Girl' dancer on the television comedy programme In Living Color - which also starred Jim Carrey - the same year.

She went on to become a backup dancer for Janet Jackson and made an appearance in her 1993 video That's the Way Love Goes.

On Wednesday night the singer and actress was happy to be upstaged on the Hollywood red carpet by Nubbins the dog, who appears alongside her in the new rom com, The Back-Up Plan.

The 39-year-old, who was dressed in a striking one-shoulder Gianfranco Ferré frock, posed with the adorable Boston Terrier before later being joined by her husband Marc Anthony.

Last night she attended Us Weekly's star-studded Earth Day party.

Britain's Got Talent: A woman getting spanked, a guitar-playing dog and a topless fire dancer... welcome to week two

By Paul Revoir

Suitable? On this week's Britain's Got More Talent, High Shakespeare audition their act - a woman quoting the Bard's work as she is spanked

It's only Week Two of the new series of Britain's Got Talent and it looks like the acts are just as wacky as ever.

A man spanking a woman, a guitar-playing dog and a topless fire dancer are among the many acts appearing on tonight's episode of the popular show.

One act, which is sure to raise eyebrows among parents of children watching the show, is a pair calling themselves High Shakespeare, whose act consisted of a woman quoting Shakespeare as she was spanked by her co-star.

Fetish? The act seems a dubious form of family entertainment

Even the show's host Stephen Mulhern gets in on the act, pulling up the woman's dress to spank her behind.

One act Cowell was taken with was Laika, a Collie Labrador billed as the only dog in the world that plays guitar, who is the star of tonight’s show.

A known animal lover, Cowell, 50, tells fellow judge Amanda Holden: 'See those are the kind of dogs I like.

However, Laika – who shares the same name as the soviet space dog which was the first animal to orbit the earth in 1957, but unfortunately died in the process – seems to have other ideas.

Too hot for TV? Fire dancer Tia playing with fire and sings at the same time

Programme makers are remaining tight-lipped about exactly what happened next or whether the dog was put through to the next round.

Not so original: Lady GaGa impersonator Maxxie

Miss Serpico makes her living by regularly busking in an underpass in Romford, Essex. However, she was told by police last year that she can no longer busk in the area even though she says her dog has become a local 'celebrity'.

She adopted Laika from the Wicklow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

She was recovered in 2006 and was cared for at an animal sanctuary before Melissa took care of her.

And the duo are set to hit the streets once again this weekend despite her new found fame.

Speaking about her audition, Miss Serbico said: ‘I started my song but the crowd started chanting 'Off! Off! Off!' Simon said 'show us your guitar-playing dog.'

‘They weren't at all interested in me - it was all about the dog.’

Balancing act: Sinead plays the guitar while jumping on a pogo stick

Miss Serpico yesterday revealed that she recently called Cowell’s management to see if the multi-millionaire wants to adopt Laika, as she claims that with the escalating cost of caring for her pet, she would prefer to see her in a good home.

Among the other acts on this week's show are a 51-year-old woman who moonwalks and plays the castanets during her Michael Jackson tribute act.

It also features The Regurgitator, Stevie Starr, a man who brings back up any particular coin he has swallowed on request, before he moves on to a full size billiard ball.

Animal madness: A gymnast shows off her skills on a horse

But one act who are being tipped as possible winners are The Arrangement a classically trained group of musicians who give an operatic treatment to cutting edge pop music like Beyonce, Lady GaGa and Flo Rida. The singers all come from Oxbridge.

There is also a Lady GaGa drag act impersonator called Maxxie who does a medley of her songs.

Another hotly fancied act are Spellbound - an acrobatic gymnastic group - who are being described as the best act of their type that has ever entered the competition.

While a singing accountant, a pig and a horse also grace the stage in the episode.

Peter Andre turns back the clock 17 years to his Mysterious Girl days as he bares his toned chest during extended Dubai trip

In great shape: Peter Andre shows off his toned chest as he runs on the beach in Dubai

Back in 1993 Peter Andre thrilled a generation of girls, and their mothers, when he burst onto the music scene with his single Mysterious Girl.

But while his music filled the airwaves, it was the accompanying video, showing Andre's muscular chest as he cavorted in a jungle shower, which made the biggest impact.

Seventeen years on and it seems Andre is once again back to his best, showing off his incredible six pack as he went running on the beach last week.

SCROLL DOWN TO SEE ANDRE'S MYSTERIOUS GIRL VIDEO....

Heartthrob: His Mysterious Girl days

With his slim waist, toned pecs and muscular chest, the tanned 37-year-old looked even better than he did as a young pop star.

Andre was making the most of an extended break in Dubai, after his flight was cancelled due to the volcanic ash crisis.

Luckily for the TV presenter, who was holidaying with two-year-old Princess and four-year-old Junior, he was staying at the seven star Atlantis, the Palm resort.

The luxurious resort on the man-made island Palm Jumeirah featured on the X Factor when Dannii Minogue used it to select her finalists, with the help of sister Kylie.
After flying back to Britain yesterday, Andre got on with the business of choosing a new home.

Today he visited a series of luxury locations, meeting the neighbours and inspecting the properties.

He is moving out of his rented home in Brighton to live closer to his son's school in Surrey.

'I want a nice family home that's convenient for everyone,' Andre said in his New! magazine column this week.

'I absolutely love the house I've been renting since my split with Kate but it's not near Junior's school and that's a real priority for me.'

Meet the neighbours: It seems residents in the exclusive Dormans Park area of Sussex are keen for Andre to move in

New home? Andre was looking at houses today, travelling in his Bentley

Property talk: Andre talks to two estate agents as he checks out a house in Dormans Park

Andre also revealed this week that he is still recovering from the end of his marriage - he separated from now ex-wife Katie Price a year ago.

'If you really loved them, you don't get over it just like that. These things take time,' he said.

'A survey revealed last week that it takes the average person at least 18 months to recover from a divorce.

'I would totally agree with this.'

Glad to be back: Andre and manager Claire Powell return from Dubai yesterday after an extended break due to the volcanic ash cloud

Buddy go get help: The German Shepherd spots the trooper's car and races off in the direction of the burning house

This is the kind of Buddy you really want in a crisis.

Buddy the German Shepherd proved to be a real-life Lassie as he led police straight to his family home which was on fire.

The frantic pet dog can be seen on police dashcam footage looking back repeatedly to make sure the car was still following as he took them round narrow, unlit bends to the inferno.

Real-life Lassie: Buddy leads the trooper down unlit, winding roads

Near-tragedy: Buddy brings the trooper right up to his family's burning home

Owner Ben Heinrichs, 23, insists the amazing rescue started when his dog raced off after he told him: 'Buddy, we need to get help.'

Alaska State Trooper Terrence Shanigan was struggling to find the fire after his navigation system froze - and says he acted on a hunch and followed the dog after seeing its sense of urgency.

Now Buddy is being awarded with a silver-plated dog bowl by troopers.
Heinrichs' work shop was destroyed and a nearby wood shed was badly burned.

owever, the Heinrichs' home escaped the flames, with only the trim around the kitchen window was damaged by the fire.

'Buddy's valiant actions saved Trooper Shanigan valuable time in responding to the fire,' said Alaska State Troopers' Director Col. Audie Holloway.

'Buddy's pluckiness is a bright spot among an otherwise tragic event for the Heinrichs family.'
