Tearful: Chantelle Houghton broke down on Ultimate Big Brother as she admitted she should have had therapy after her divorce, rather than plastic surgery

Splashing out on a new car or overhauling your image are common ways to cope with divorce.

But Chantelle Houghton has admitted that she went too far following her split from Ordinary Boys singer Preston, after just ten months of marriage.

The reality TV star, who underwent drastic plastic surgery in the wake of her split, told her Big Brother housemates it would have been healthier to have therapy.

Former lovers: Chantelle and Preston have become reacquainted in the house; the pair had a ten-month marriage after meeting on an earlier show

A tearful Chantelle said: 'I didn't get over what happened when we split up and I'm only just realising so now I'm in here.

'I went and got my boobs done, face fillers and my lips done and I should have seen a therapist.

'I just wanted to completely change myself and look like a completely different person.'

Talking to Ulrika, Nadia and Brian in the bedroom, Chantelle broke down as she described the depths of her despair.

'I was on the M5 once and it got to the point where I was so upset that I just closed my eyes,' she admitted.

Pretty in pink: The two enjoy a shower

Drying off: 'This isn't I'm A Celebrity, she's no Myleene Klass', said Victor Ebuwa

Her fellow housemates were clearly shocked, rushing to support her.

Nadia questioned whether Chantelle felt she was good enough to be on her own but assured her she did not need a man to boost her self-esteem.

'You don't need a second someone,' she said.

Preston was unaware of his ex-wife's distress, chatting in another room.
The divorced pair have bonded since their initial shock at seeing one another in the house.

Washing off: Nadia joins the girls in the pool

Enjoying the sunshine: The group took every opportunity to strip off

But there is speculation that Chantelle may still harbour feelings for her ex.
The 27-year-old's best friend has revealed she thinks she hopes to get back together with him.

Vicky Thomas told Star magazine: 'Chantelle is determined to make Preston realise what they once had together.

'She said she would show him the girl he fell in love with all those years ago, and she hopes he falls for her all over again.

'They had this amazing love story - you don't come out of that with no feelings. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they got back together.'

Team Building task: The housemates as a group had to build a shed, competing with former winner Craig Phillips who had to complete the same task on his own

Vicky said Chantelle's reaction to the split didn't surprise her: 'When they split, Chantelle rebelled and got breast implants and changed her hair - all the things that you do when you're heartbroken.

'It was just her way of dealing with the pain of splitting up with someone you love.'
And Chantelle's mother told New! magazine that she wouldn't stop her daughter from getting back with Preston.

'It was a pleasure to have him as a son-in-law. He's lovely and is looking after Chantelle in the house.

Getting stuck in: The housemates threw themselves into the task

'I think they probably will, yes. It's a weird feeling for them being together in an environment like that.

'It would have been their fourth wedding anniversary last Wednesday, so they obviously feel nostalgic now they're in such close proximity.

'I feel sure Preston will always be in Chantelle's heart. After all, they did get married - it was real life.'

Gunged: Ulrika had a cake dropped on her head in the diary room before she could nominate

And she said she didn't fear that being on the show would trigger her daughter's bulima.

'She was in dark days for that to happen. She's not in those dark days now. She's moved on and is happy, so she's got no reason at all to start thinking those thoughts.'

Meanwhile it was revealed that two housemates will leave the Big Brother house on Friday in a double eviction.

Nick, Makosi, Chantelle, Nadia, Nikki and Ulrika will all face the public vote after each receiving nominations.

Covered in cake: 'Nasty' Nick did not escape unscathed as the house revisited some of the old challenges

Contestants in the Ultimate Big Brother series had to complete tasks drawn from previous series before they could give their nominations in the Diary Room.

The nostalgic challenges included brushing teeth with tofu - which sparked a tantrum when Nikki found out that was her task - drinking ice shots for Preston while Ulrika had a cake dropped on her head.

New housemates Victor and Michelle were immune from nominations

Settling in: Michelle is already at home in the house, a day after entering
